West Bengal Khadi & Village Industries Board primarily surveyed at the block of Sandeshkhali-II at North 24 Parganas (The district of North 24 Pargans created on March 1, 1986 by bifurcating the erstwhile 24 Parganas district is spread over an area of 4094 sq. km.). It is found that near about 520 are working with Ready Made Garments Mfg. individually. To bring them under an umbrella and to promote their product to the local market as well as market in abroad and to provide them with modified tools and equipments and to continue the flow of Ready Made Garments Products.
The project is conceptualized as an integrated part for the development of clusters among the members of SHG for promotion of Dress making products mfg. units through participation of women through promotion of Self Help Group (SHGs) with the financial support and technical guidance of the Government.
Taking the above into view, WBKVIB has taken an initiative to develop a Cluster Development Project on Ready Made Garments.
