RURAL EMPLOYMENT GENERATION PROGRAMME ( REGP)

 

Introduction: KVIC introduced this programme in the year 1999-2000 in place of CBC Programme
Objective: To generate employment by establishing new units.
Eligible Projects: The scheme applicable only to new industry & service units in rural areas. Expansions of existing units were not allowed.
Eligible activities: All Industrial & Service activities except those mentioned in the negative list of KVIC & Red Category units of Pollution Control Board.
Ceiling limit of the Project: Up to 25 Lakhs 
Financing Bank: All Public Sectors Banks and Regional Rural Banks.
Margin Money: Margin Money- a back end subsidy was provided to projects up to Rs 10 lakhs-25%-30%. above 10 to 25 lakhs -10% of marginal amount i.e. 10% of Rs. 15 Lakhs.
Own contribution: 10% for General Category & 5% for others.
